Prof. UWr. Rafał Wojciechowski

Rafał Wojciechowski, PhD and Sc. D., professor of the University of Wrocław (born in 1969) – In 1993 he graduated in law studies at the University of Wrocław. He received his PhD in 2002, at his home university, based on the dissertation “Societas in the Creative Work of Gloss Writers and Commentators”, supervised by Edward Szymoszek, PhD and Sc.D. In 2006 and 2007 he was the research fellow of Max Plank Society at Max-Planck-Institut für ausländisches und internationales Privatrecht. He became the member of the Polish Association of Law and Economics and of the editorial board of Abritraż and Mediacja [Arbitration and Mediation] journal. He was awarded the Doctor of Science degree in 2010 at the University of Wrocław, based on the dissertation “Arbitration in the Legal Doctrine of Middle Ages”. Since his graduation he has been working as an academic teacher at the University of Wrocław. In 2010, he was entered into the register of recommended arbitration judges of the Arbitration Court, National Chamber of Commerce (KIG). In 2013, he took the position of the associate professor in the Roman Law Department, Institute of the History of Law and State, Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics, University of Wrocław. In 2014, he became the head of the European Legal Culture Laboratory. In April 2016, he was elected the Deputy Rector of the University of Wrocław for the 2016-2020 term (since 1 September 2016).
